I guess it can’t compete with this classic. But during the circumstances - there’s still some differences between New York and a 50 000+ city in northen Sweden - it’s pretty nice.

One more hero from the past has left us.

Kid Cudi get some help from Collie Buddz and Chip Fu to roll up a whole christmas tree. Don’t forget to check out the Jim Jones version as well. From Fools Gold.

There is nothing wrong with the skillz of our local reggae selectors but you might have to practise some during the xmas holidays if you want to compete with this dude.
The house- and discomanias over at Stockholmsnatt has a real nice xmas calender going on. If you liked this clip you’ll probebly like the sequel above as well.

Speaking of dons made me think of this reggae favorite from Lloyd Parks.

Local blogg-Dons Discobelle just gave us this fantastic slowmo/acid/dub mix of Kanye West’s “Champion” by Brooklyns Cousin Cole. It’s almost up there with his “I’m On Fire”-remix so go get it if you’re into that tweaking, slowmotion acid house sound.

Playground music gave away a great Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve re-work of Franz Ferdinand to the readers of Rodeo - swedens no.1 lifestyle/art/music-magazine (and I’m not only saying that because they help me pay my bills).
I’m realy feeling this so I thought that I could share it with you.

The Native Tongues - the 80s collective of De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Monie Love and Jungle Brothers among others - was one of the main reasons for me getting into hiphop.
Jungle Brothers, or at least 2/3 of the original members, are visiting Malmo tomorrow (thursday). And the big news are that it doesn’t cost a dime. FREE ENTRANCE!
Sons of Soul is a sadly forgotten Swedish hiphop group who was heavy influenced by the Native Tongues. The group consisted of DJ Crazy (who later became a celebrated name on the drum & bass-scene in Sweden), Ben McCarty and Robert Åsard. The Don of Swedish house music, Stonebridge, was also involved mixing Sons of Souls selftitled debut (and only album I think?) and produced some of the tracks.
Just recently I discover Sons Of Soul (or someone else) have create amyspace-page for the group.
Here you can listen to a real good little radio feature on Sons of Soul with Swedish hiphop journalist Broadcaster D.
This one has been a personal favourite since the album was released way back in 1991.
