Wassup Rockers!

Det var en månad sedan sist. Nu är det hög tid att åter svepa ett glas chardonnay och skaka liv i partners, vänner, älskare och alla andra nära och kära. På fredag 31 oktober är vi nämligen tillbaka med vår clash av offentlig lägenhetsfest och privat utomhusdisco på Babel.

Vid skivspelarna tänkte vi placera vårt lokala soundsystem för att smälla ihop militant disco och dubbig rock’n’roll med knivskarp skinnpajsreggae och tuffaste basdunket från världens alla hörn.

Även denna gång tänder vi lianerna av färgglada glödlampor och brer ut de rutiga dukarna redan vid 21.00 för att mjukstarta kapplöpningen mot la la land med mat och dryck.

Sorry for the late posting but I’ve been in a deadline coma the last couple of days. You Could see the result in a couple of weeks in Swedish magazine Rodeo. Anyway many thanks to everyone who showed up at Discopherenia last friday, most of all many thanks to Terje who (as usual) took us on a pleasant ride along the disco milkyway.

Stort tack till alla ni drygt 400 personer som kom och hälsade Wassup Rockers välkomna i fredags. Big Up till Tommi och Enrico från Komposti som rev taket med allt från 80-talets största reggae anthems till hur tjocka hemsnickrade edits och dubplates som helst, bland annat på DJ Mujavas “Township Funk”(!). Nu har vi kurerat oss i några dagar och slängt upp Jesper Bergs bilder från förfesten tidigt på kvällen, innan galenskaperna brakade loss på allvar.

This weekend we’re doing a exclusive visit to Moriskan for our only Oh, Baby - I Like It Raw gig together for the summer. On Saturday we’re guest at Club Park here in Malmö for a 4 hour set on 4 turntables. We’re playing on the main floor so expect a serious clash of percussive house, afro techno, dubby disco, raw boogie and fog horn samples.

Everyone is welcome to joing the party!

Our local dancehall heroes Safari Sound takes care of the second floor and Underground Militia bangs it outside. Safari Sound have pimped their blog to great effect. For the latest in Jamaican music visit: the Original Bangarang blog.

Massive thanks and lots of love to everyone that turn up at our Good Bye party last friday on C/O bar and make it one of the most beautiful nights ever. You were fantastic!

We’re trying to put together a tracklist of all of the tunes that we played. Some parts of the night it’s a little bit cloudy but I think we’ll be able to pull it off. There’s also rumours about some videos from the night circling around.
