Dance & Shake Your Tambourine is most known in Patrick Adams and the Universal Robot Band’s original version. But this version is even better if you ask me. It’s not a big suprise that the legandary reggae dummer Sly Dunbar takes it even more up in the clouds. When it comes to dubby disco it doesn’t get any better than this.
#2 Sly Dunbar - Dance & Shake Your Tambourine (320)
Top notch boogie straight outa Italy that could be found on Stevie Kotey’s terrific Disco Italia compilation from a couple of years back.
#3 Rainbow Team - Dreaming (320)
Stevie Wonder in dub! Englands Radikal Roots aka Dominic Dawson mash up and reworks Roots Uprising cover with Stevie Wonders classic original version. A raw tribute to one of the greatest who happens to visit Copenhagen the same day as our own little disco carneval this weekend.
#3 Roots Uprising vs Stevie Wonder - Masterblaster/Jammin’ (Radikal Roots Re-Edit) (320)
A great track from one of my favourite albums of all time. Our classics list wouldn’t be complete without a Metro Area track.
Metro Area - Orange Alert (320)
Big classic for us! Needs no further introduction.
Tantra - A Place Called Tarot (Idjut Boys Re-Edit) (320)
Ace Maurice Fulton production!
I sorry for the abcence the last couple of days but we’ve been busy dancing to disco and dub sounds all weekend. I try to make things up with this goodie from the C.O.M.B.I-camp. Fantastic slowmo late night disco.
#8 Village People - 5 O’Clock In The Morning (C.O.M.B.I.-edit) (320)
The title says it all. Stevie Kotey & Co digs up some heavy disco bass from deepest corners of the dub bassment on this one. With a foxy hippie lady who talks about who she was “catapulted into the disco world. It was no directions. We where feeling or way around..” over some latin percussion breaks you can’t go wrong. “Illegal Entry” is heavier than a Bodybuilder.
Shrinkwrap – Illegal Entry (Chicken Lips Heavy Heavy Dub) (320)
When Todd Terje dropped “Fehrara” at Oh, Baby - I Like It Raw in april 2007, the crowd fell into some kind of collective trance. The funky and acidy bassline gets a hold of you and never lets go. I loved playing this track and in my opinion, it’s one of Prins Thomas’s best.
