Last night at 02.32 I got a text message from Måns of the Dj-duo/club and record label Rollerboys in Stockholm.
“Discot finns inte hos er!!!” (“the disco is not at your place”, or something like that). And nothing more.
I’m not exactly sure what he mean by that but tonight he’s visiting Stephen Hawkings at Debaser in Malmö with his selection of cosmic rock’n’roll and leather disco. Don’t miss.

Check out the latest drugy mountain disco mix from our friend Johnny Too Bad in Gothenburg. Jonas Dahlström, the older brother of Sankt Göran, has also started a new blog dedicated to scandinavian disco music: Scandinavian Muscle. Check it out.

One funny thing about crate diggin in Malmo is that you never know what you will end up with. There aren’t any logistics about how certain records have found its way to the stores.
One record that I’ve been after for a while is pre reggaeton icon El General and his dancehall classic (at least in the spannish speaking parts of the hiphop world) “Teves Buena”. I thought I should find it on my last trip to New York but I didn’t.
Well, yesterday I found both “Teves Buena” and his debut(?) twelve “Pu Tun Tun” at Seriemagasinet here in Malmo, a store most known for vintage rock, soul and jazz. I don’t have a clue were they got it from because as far as I know those records have never been released in Sweden at all.
I’ll put them up here as soon as I’ve ripped them.

Me and Oscar are doing our social and barclub tonight 22-01 at Metro in Malmö. All rudegirls and rockers are welcome to join our version of the dub.

I manage to catch a cab yesterday on my lunch break so I could visit Skivesset - the no.1 spot for local crate diggers here in Malmö. They had just received a DJ-collection of +2500 twelve’s so I was a little bit exited when I walked down the stairs to the basement. But I went pretty fast into status quo when the first persons I met was - Emil Broome and revK of the Stephen Hawkings crew, Tiaz and Simon Åberg of Deluxe/Klubb Kollo.
They had pretty much already went thru the whole collection but I got a few goodies anyway, mainly hiphop- and R&B-hits from the 2000s but also a few rare house and soul tracks. Al Greens promo only 12” of “Keep On Pushing Love” from 1994 for example.
This nugget - Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez amazing jackin’ house rework of Technotronics “Pump up the Jam” from 1990 - was probably my best catch.
House Syndicate - Jam the Mace (320)

Time for Versus again. We´ve invited ADL, one of Swedens best MC´s, for an allnight host/freestyle session. He´s an excellent host and no stranger to house & techno. Me and Ali are playing records all night as usual.
