Oh, Baby – I Like It Raw are a dj-team and a club run by Oscar Villata and Jonas Grönlund aka Jonas From Falun.
It started as a club in Malmoe, Sweden march 2006. The original location was a small dance studio in a tiny basement but after three months of cheap champagne and dance floor madness the club took it’s sharp mix of disco echoes, house, dub and wobbling bass lines from Jamaica to the well established C/O bar at the venue Jeriko, a couple of blocks down town.
Five years later, two club of the year awards, and unbelievable nights with names as John Talabot, Horse Meat Disco, Prins Thomas, Michael Mayer, Todd Terje, Studio, Brennan Green, Jesse Rose, Rub’N’Tug, Sankt Goran, Kissey Asplund, Kiki and Kool DJ Dust, Oh, Baby – I Like It Raw are still keeping the torch burning on different spots and locations.
This fall they are residents at the second intimate floor at Kiloton/Babel in Malmö.
Oscar Villata started to play hiphop and disco in the early 00s. As a hard core-fan of Arthur Russell and Leroy Burgess he use to do the club Disco For You in Malmoe. Today his one of the most celebrated house och disco DJs in southern Sweden with resident spots at clubs Mommas Drum Club and Versus. Since 2010 he runs the small house label Geography Records with Adam Lundberg.
Jonas From Falun is a DJ and music journalist that’s been playing records and running clubs all over Sweden since the mid 90s. With a vide taste including everything from dub and reggae to disco, hiphop, house and afrotropical sounds he’s established him self as one of the most versatile DJs in Sweden.
Jesper Berg is your eyes at Oh, Baby – I like it Raw. People call him Walter but you could also call him God of photography or Lord of the dancefloor. ”I also like to cook and make babies. In my spare time I use my camera to capture people I like and care about.” You will regulary find pictures from Jesper Berg in Swedens biggest newspapers and magazines.
